Since the inception, both Vanita Vishram and Sheth P.T. Mahila College of Arts & Home Science have undertaken the Himalayan task of empowering women through education. Recently, we have added many short-term, value-added, certificate courses as well as a degree programme (Bachelor of Vocation – B.Voc.) with the objective of skill development. We constantly thrive to set-up an education pattern that furnishes all the pedagogical requirements and ingrains value education in the students. Women education and empowerment are integral aspects. The Vision and Mission statements categorically state the same:

To my mind, an educational institute is not just about bricks, mortar and concrete, but more about building character, enriching minds and about creating learning experiences that last a lifetime. With this perspective, we, at Sheth P.T. Mahila College of Arts & Home Science, set high academic standards with greater emphasis on value education.

The name of Sheth P.T. Mahila College of Arts & Home Science is known far and wide primarily for its academics. Right from offering degree courses in Arts [Gujarati, Hindi, English, Psychology & Subsidiary History], Home Science [General Home Science, Food Science & Nutrition, Human Development, Fashion Designing, Hospitality Management], Science [Chemistry, Microbiology, Subsidiary Physics, Botany, Mathematics], Bachelor of Vocation [Fashion Designing, Interior Design], Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics to the overall performance of the college in University examinations, the college has displayed greater heights of academic excellence over a period of time. It is worthy enough a proof not only of the academic credentials of this college but also of its unparalleled academic leadership in the entire region of South Gujarat.

An ISO 9001:2015 certified academic institution, Sheth P.T. Mahila College of Arts & Home Science also has Innovation-cum-Recording Centre (SWAYAM Digital Learning Platform). It facilitates both the teachers and students for recording their lectures, speeches, and talented performances. It also has the Local Chapter of SWAYAM-NPTEL, MHRD, Govt. of India through which various massive open-access online courses are made available to the students and the faculty members. It also functions as the Nodal Centre of Virtual Labs (IIT Mumbai and Amrita Virtual Lab).

Education, especially quality education, is a prerequisite to a decent and upright living. Therefore, we have committed ourselves to the advancement of women through the provision of such educational opportunities and facilities that enhance their performance on the personal and professional fronts. Considering this, the college offers various career-oriented, short-term, value-added courses like Learning Disability, Counselling, Communication Skills and Personality Development, Computer-related Courses like CCC, Web Designing, Mobile Application, and Graphics Designing etc. throughout the year. Along with regular lectures, NCC training and camps, Community Outreach Programmes through NSS, Cultural Events and other activities like Inter and Intra-collegiate Competitions, Seminars, Workshops, Guest lectures, Parents’ meet, Career Counselling Sessions, Alumnae Meet etc. are also organized for enhancing academic excellence and the all-round development of the students. Since its establishment, this college has endeavored to prepare its students for an enterprising and rewarding career in this fast and ever-growing world of competition. Keeping the same objective in mind, the college authorities and visionaries of the Management have initiated the above-mentioned courses.

Last but by no means the least, the visionary leadership of Vanita Vishram Management and their die-hard commitment to excellence will help us in setting new benchmarks and inspire us to achieve new milestones. I am sure that the college will always persevere to climb the ladder of success and contribute meaningfully to the noble objective of women empowerment through quality education and skill development.
