Activity on Start up Innovation Program and Exhibition on 15th September 2025

Students from the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, Sheth P.T. Mahila College of Arts & Home Science, Surat, participated in the Start-up Innovation Programme and Exhibition organized by Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat) on 15th September 2025.

The programme aimed to foster innovation and promote start-up culture among young learners. It began with an informative orientation session conducted by industry experts and innovators who emphasized the importance of creativity, product innovation, and entrepreneurship in the food and nutrition sector.

Following the session, participants exhibited their innovative products developed using scientific principles of food formulation and balanced nutrition. Students from SPTMC showcased their nutritious food product prototypes, presenting details about formulation, nutritional composition, consumer target groups, and market feasibility.

Visitors, including professors, researchers, and professionals, appreciated the creativity and scientific approach demonstrated by the students. The exhibits received encouraging feedback, highlighting innovation, nutritional value, and potential for commercialization. Several visitors expressed keen interest in the products and their practical applications, underscoring their market viability.

The exhibition provided an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on exposure to the process of converting innovative ideas into marketable products. It enhanced their confidence, communication, and entrepreneurial mindset, aligning academic learning with practical industry experience. The college extends its appreciation to Prof. Minakshi Tripathi for mentoring and guiding the participants and thanks the organizers of SVNIT for providing such a valuable learning platform that nurtures innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit among budding food technologists and nutritionists.
