Suicide Prevention Day 29th September 2025

Apr 27, 2026

The college organized an Awareness Program on World Suicide Prevention Day with the goal of promoting mental health awareness and preventing suicide among students. The session began with a prayer and a welcome address, followed by insightful talks from expert speakers invited for the program. The experts highlighted the causes, warning signs, and preventive measures related to suicide, and emphasized the role of family, friends, and institutions in offering timely help. The session also underlined the importance of seeking professional counseling, peer support, and adopting positive coping strategies to deal with stress and emotional challenges. Students were encouraged to express their feelings openly and reach out for help whenever in distress. In addition, the session stressed the need to reduce stigma around mental health issues, thereby creating a safe space for discussion. Students actively engaged in the session, which motivated them to become more empathetic and supportive toward peers who may be struggling silently. The experts were later felicitated as a token of appreciation for their valuable contribution. This initiative reflected the college’s commitment to student well-being, showing that suicide prevention is possible through awareness, timely intervention, and collective support
