World Dietetics Day is celebrated on 10th January every year to highlight the vital role of dietetics and nutrition in maintaining good health. To mark this occasion, the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, in collaboration with the Innovative Club, organized a Zumba Workshop on 12th January 2026 for students of the Arts Department and the Food Science and Nutrition Department. Faculty members from both departments were also invited to participate.
The workshop began at 7:30 a.m. with an enthusiastic welcome to the participants. The session was conducted by Ms. Bhoomi Tiwari and Ms. Sakshi from the KalaBhoomi Institute, who created a highly energetic and motivating environment. The Zumba session was systematically structured, starting with a warm-up, followed by an energetic main workout session involving rhythmic movements, and ending with cool-down activities.
A total of 120 students actively participated in the workshop. The session helped participants understand the importance of combining physical activity with proper nutrition for overall well-being. The presence and participation of faculty members further motivated the students and added to the success of the event.
After the Zumba session, healthy refreshments made from sprouts and vegetables were served. The refreshments were prepared by the non-teaching staff, while the arrangement of sprouts was managed by the Second Year B.Sc. Food Science and Nutrition students, highlighting teamwork and practical learning.
Overall, the workshop was a grand success and effectively conveyed the message of fitness, nutrition, and healthy living in a joyful and interactive manner.
