I attended SPTMC from 1986 to 1989 and received my BSc Composite Home Science, with fourth position in the University. While the college was significantly different when I graduated – there weren’t many specialisations, the staff was different, etc. – the heart of SPTMC has remained the same. The college has always upheld the motto of SNDT,- An enlightened woman is a source of infinite power. My time at the college empowered me to pursue my passions while allowing me access to some of the best resources that existed at the time. I completed my education without the internet or social media, the library, staff and community were a wonderful source of information and guidance throughout my three years of college. The teachers made time for every student and ensured that our personal goals were met.
I returned to SPTMC as a lecturer after completion of my M.Sc from M.S University,Baroda.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Teaching and studying at the same college empowered me with the skills that have helped me ascend through the real world today. Further, I also completed my M.S in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2008.
Took up a job of a Counsellor and a Psychology teacher at Delhi Private School Dubai since 2009. I am currently the Head of Counselling at Delhi Private School Dubai,. And it was at SPTMC that I truly learned the value of good communication and good leadership. My classes – in Gujarati and in English – taught me far more than just the textbook material. I learnt how to move forward as a productive member of society and I use those skills every day, as a teacher, a mentor, and a Counsellor.
