“Jaipur – pink city” is a perfect blend of art,craft, inherent style and age-old culture, which is a delight to visit. From Bandhani to blue pottery, from Ghoomar to authentic Rajasthani everything finds its way to the beautiful capital of Rajasthan.
This year our department planned an educational tour to Jaipur for the second year and third year Apparel Design students. We began our journey on the 6th of September 2016 accompanied by our faculty members. The fun and enjoyment began the moment we stepped on the train. On reaching Jaipur, we visited Bagru village, which is well known for its Hand-Block Daboo Printed Textiles and witnessed the block making and printing procedures.
We were taken aback by the surprise DJ party organized for us on return to the hotel.
Next day was scheduled with visits to different industries such as Quilt making and Carpet weaving. In a short span of time we visited the local market and shopped to our hearts content for Bandhani, Laheriya, Traditional Jewelry and various other handicrafts.
The latter part of the day was reserved for Sanganer Village to learn about screen printing as well as garment manufacturing unit working for well known brands such as Melange,Jaypore, Lifestyle etc. The visit to Jaipur would have been incomplete without a stopover at the famous “ Chowki Dhani – A Luxury Heritage Hotel” which was taken care of by our teachers. On our way back we stopped to see the famous Blue Pottery Art of Jaipur.
Last day was reserved for site seeing , City palace – One gets lost in its inherent royalty , Hawa Mahal – a palace of windows , Jantar Mantar – collection of architectural and astronomical instruments, Amer fort engulfs you in its serine beauty and architecture .
We all were confined in the aura of Jaipur and did not realize that it was time to bid adieu to this marvelous city. The trip had concluded withpriceless experience and lifetime memories. We returned on the 10th of September. We
all will cherish this trip forever and ever.

An educational tryst with Goa 8th August-12th August 2016

It was perhaps the high levels of excitement that might have had wiped off sleep from the eyes of the students of Third year and Second year Hospitality Management students on the night of 8th September, when this enthusiastic
bunch, under the guidance of Mrs Ruchika Agarwal and Dr. Vinita Dave accompanied By Shri Tinesh Gandhi, made their way to the Surat Railway Station in order to board the train that shall trail its course to India’s most favorite destination- Goa. The rail journey was as beautiful as the destination itself with cool breeze and greenery all around us. On reaching Thivim station the group de boarded the train andheaded towards the hotel. Thereafter the entire day was spent in visiting all the beaches like Baga, Calungute, Candolim, Vagator etc. in North Goa.
The second day was full of excitement as the students got ready in their formal attires to visit the different properties. The first property was Casa-De-Goa – A Boutique Hotel located on Baga Beach followed by visit to five star property of Taj Vivanta. It was a wonderful opportunity for the students as well as the faculty as they got to visit the various departments like Food Production, Housekeeping, Front Office, Recreation Areas etc. and understand the working
of both the properties, under the guidance of their very helpful staff. The day was very fruitful as the students were satiated with the day’s experience. The following day the architectural marvels like the churches, museums were
visited followed by a fascinating cruise ride on the River Mandovi on which the students danced to the reverberating beats of the music. The day was very exhausting but could not dampen the spirits of the students who after a lavish
dinner at the hotel spent quality time at the pool side with their friends. As they say ‘all good things come to an end’, so we also headed back home, but the memories created will be cherished forever.
